![]() Stephen H. Jordan Shareholder shjordan@rothmangordon.com Summary: Stephen Jordan has built an extensive employment and labor law practice. He provides counsel to numerous Pittsburgh local unions in Western Pennsylvania on collective bargaining, labor arbitration, and contract administration in both the public and private sectors. Steve also works with executives on a variety of aspects of employment law such as termination, severance negotiation, and executive compensation. Steve also has extensive experience in the representation of professiona, para-professional, and non-professional employees in public and private schools, as well as in higher education. He is appointed to the American Arbitration Association's Commercial Arbitration Panel and National Roster for Non-Binding Employment Arbitration, to the panel of arbitrators maintained by the Arbitration and Mediation Service, and to the roster of arbitrators administered by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Mediation, Department of Labor and Industry. Steve also serves as a Mediator in employment disputes. Steve has been selected by his peers to The Best Lawyers In America from 1991 to the present was named to the 2003-2004 edition of Chambers USA Guide to the Legal Profession, and has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer since its inception and was listed as one of the top 50 Pittsburgh Super lawyers in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He is also AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. For three terms, Steve served on the Management Committee of the Firm. Steve serves as board member of the Jewish Family and Children's Service, chairing its Personnel Committee. Steve is also a past Board Member of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Pittsburgh, the Board of Trustees of Community Day, and past Secretary of the Jewish Education Institute. Steve earned his B.S. from Eastern Michigan University and his J.D. from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, graduating cum laude. Steve is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association (Labor Law Section and the Alternative Resolution Dispute committee) and served as the Labor Law Section Chairperson in 1985. He has also served as Treasurer and Chairperson of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators and the Mediation Council of Western Pennsylvania. Steve was the Chairperson of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Industrial Relations Research Association from 1992-1993 and a former Adjunct Instructor of Labor Law for the Philip Murray Institute of Labor Studies and the Pennsylvania State University.
