SAMUEL L. DOUGLASS JOINS ROTHMAN GORDON REAL ESTATE PRACTICE
Samuel L. Douglass has joined Rothman Gordon, P.C., a downtown Pittsburgh law firm, as a Partner in the Real Estate Practice. He joins Rothman Gordon after 41 years with Rose, Schmidt, Hasley & DiSalle, P.C.
Mr. Douglass received his B.A. from Mount Union College in 1955 and earned his LLB from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1958. He was admitted to the Bar in 1959 and has focused his practice on Mineral Law, as well as coal, oil and gas. Mr. Douglass was a founder of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (originally the Eastern Mineral Law Foundation). He served as the Foundation President from 1979 through 1981 and is currently a Trustee. In 1990, Mr. Douglass was the recipient of the "Distinguished Service Award" at the Coal Lawyers Conference of the National Coal Association and he is also recognized in Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate. Mr. Douglass recently retired from the position of Solicitor for The School District of the Township of Upper St. Clair after serving for 28 year.
Mr. Douglass is a member of the American Bar Association (Real Estate Probate and Trust Law Section), the Pennsylvania Bar Association (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section), and the Allegheny County Bar Association (Real Estate Section Member of Council; Chairman, 1983; Lawyer-Realtor Committee, former Chairman; Municipal Law Section and Schools Committee; and Special Fee Determination Committee).
Mr. Douglass resides in the South Hills with his wife, Judith. They have four children: Heather, Kevin, Shawn and Shannon, and six grandchildren.
