![]() FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE SAMUEL AND JUDITH DOUGLASS AWARDED THE WESLEY INSTITUTE ODYSSEY VOLUNTEER AWARDPITTSBURGH, PA (February 13, 2004) - Samuel Douglass, attorney with Rothman Gordon P.C., and his wife Judith, are the 2004 recipients of the Wesley Institute Odyssey Volunteer Award.The award will be presented to the couple at The Wesley Institute's annual gala which will take place on March 6, 2004, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Southpointe. The award is presented to a volunteer(s) who emulates an outstanding commitment to the Wesley mission and commandeers the journey of working wonders for kids. Samuel and Judy Douglass have been committed to improving the lives of children at Wesley and helped to advance Wesley's mission for more than 30 years. Sam served on the Board of Trustees at The Wesley Institute from 1971 to 1976 in various leadership positions including President of the Board for two terms, Board Secretary, Chairman of the Executive Committee and member of the Nominating Committee. Sam also was the founder of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation and president of that foundation from 1979 through 1981. He currently serves as a Trustee for that Foundation and has recently retired from the position of Solicitor for The School District of the Township of Upper St. Clair after serving for 28 years. He also is a member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Allegheny County Bar Association. Judy Douglass served on the Board of Trustees for The Wesley Institute from 1978 to 1995. Judy also served as President of The Wesley Institute Guild, Board Secretary and currently is an active member on The Wesley Institute House Tour Committee. Aside from her commitment to Wesley, Judy also is on the Board of Trustees at Mt. Union College and is president of the South Hills chapter of P.E.O., an educational and philanthropic women's organization that supports educational opportunities for women. Samuel and Judith reside in the South Hills and have four children and six grandchildren.
