FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATTORNEY RUNS MARATHON IN ATHENS
Pittsburgh, PA — December 9, 2004 — When people set high goals for themselves, running a marathon is one that often appears on the list. It is an achievement of stamina, endurance and determination. Louis B. Kushner, an attorney at Rothman Gordon, was recently able to check that goal off his list, with the added cache of running what is believed to be the original course from Marathon to Athens.
The concept of a marathon is based upon the legend of Phidipidis, an Athenian soldier who, in 490 B.C., ran from Marathon to Athens to announce the Athenian victory against the Persians. The Athens Marathon is recognized as the original marathon course and terminates in the Athens Olympic Stadium. The course was also used in the 2004 Olympics hosted in Greece. Mr. Kushner participated in the November 7, 2004 race. He was greeted at the finish line by his wife, Sandy, and his son, Ryan.
Mr. Kushner is a partner and head of the Labor and Employment Department of Rothman Gordon. He resides in Squirrel Hill with his wife, Sandra R. Kushner, also an attorney. The have three children.
