A case study of issues and responses unique to HOAs during COVID-19
COVID-19 has caused nearly everyone to adjust to new rules and criteria for conducting everyday business and Homeowner Associations and Condominium Associations were not spared. Rothman Gordon recently worked with an association client to timely respond to the new challenges created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, we assisted the Association with
- analyzing the evolving COVD-19 regulations to determine how Association operations would be affected and alerting the Association to new developments in the law;
- developing policies for the operation of the Association swimming pools that complied with the state and federal regulations and guidance; and
- preparing an application to the state requesting permission to continue essential operations during the necessary for the health and safety of the community.
This work exemplifies how we represent our clients. We are responsive and can be relied upon in urgent situations to provide counsel and assist with developing a plan of action. We believe clear communication is essential to a productive working relationship and understanding our clients’ needs, especially in an evolving crisis like a pandemic. We stay current on developments in the law and are proactive about notifying clients of changes that may affect their operations. If your Homeowners Association or Condominium Association is looking for legal counsel, we welcome the opportunity to discuss if we are the right law firm for you.
