Maxwell R. Dormer
Max is an Associate in Rothman Gordon’s Estates & Trusts practice group. He assists clients with determining how they wish to leave their assets to their heirs and formulating an estate plan that comprises a will or trust, power of attorney and health care power of attorney that achieves those goals. He also administers estates. Max draws upon his experience as a tax analyst with a regional accounting firm where he worked in the Estates & Trusts subgroup and performed legal research, to minimize tax burdens.
Max also practices with the Business & Corporate and the Closely-Held & Family Business Practice groups. His knowledge of estates, taxation and business law enable him to bring a big picture perspective to issues impacting closely-held and family businesses.
Max earned his B.S. in Accounting at Penn State University and his J.D. at the University of Pittsburgh Law School, where he received a Tax Law Certificate for focusing on Tax Law, particularly in connection with Estates and Trusts. He is in the process of getting his CPA license.
Max is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association.
