Richard A. Monti
Richard Monti is an associate in the Commercial Litigation and Construction practices. He works with closely-held companies, family businesses and individuals, assisting with all stages of litigation from research and preliminary objections to depositions, and settlement proposals. Prior to becoming an attorney, Rick was a print journalist, covering sports, education, and politics throughout Western Pennsylvania, and across the country. Rick’s byline appeared hundreds of times in publications such as the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, NEXTPittsburgh, The Valley News Dispatch, and Bleacher Report.
Rick earned his B.A in Political Science from Penn State University and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. At Duquesne, he was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award, in recognition of earning the highest grade in the class “Wrongful Convictions.” He also served as the Chair of the Academic Advising Committee of Duquesne’s Student Bar Association. Rick was awarded multiple scholarships in recognition of his academic achievements, during his time at Duquesne. He is a proud graduate of Central Catholic High School.
During his last two years of law school, Rick worked as a law clerk and Summer Associate at a large civil litigation defense firm, in Pittsburgh’s Strip District neighborhood.
Rick is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association and Pennsylvania Bar Association.
