On August 20, 2020, a Class Action Complaint was filed against Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (“Chipotle”) in the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, contending that Chipotle misappropriated money belonging to its customers in violation of Pennsylvania law – including the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law. Chipotle accomplished this misappropriation by short-changing its customers who used cash for purchases.
