James W. Ummer honored for 50 years of practice

Pittsburgh, PA – James Ummer is being honored by the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) for 50 years of practice. All honorees will be acknowledged at a reception at the Duquesne Club. The ACBA’s 50/60 Year Practitioners Awards Ceremony is a celebration of those members of the Pittsburgh Legal Community who have achieved the milestone of practicing law for 50 or 60 years. The practice of law has changed dramatically over the last half century and ACBA members have been a participant and witness to these changes.

Mr. Ummer’s practice is focused on planning for privately-owned businesses and families of substantial net worth.  He also has considerable experience with charitable trusts, foundations, and not-for-profit organizations, particularly colleges and universities. Mr. Ummer continues to participate in structuring private investment transactions while also counseling his clients on the protection and preservation of assets and earning capacity.

Mr. Ummer is a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel. He earned his B.A. from Thiel College and his J.D. from Duke University.
