Wastewater Management

Our attorneys assist companies and landowners with respect to matters involving compliance and enforcement of the Federal Clean Water Act (and corresponding state laws and programs).  Our attorneys help clients obtain National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permits which contain reasonable and achievable water quality standards, negotiate consent orders and penalty assessments with federal and state agencies for wastewater discharge violations and provide defense for enforcement actions brought by federal and state agencies under the Federal Clean Water Act.  In addition, our attorneys closely monitor developments under the Federal Clean Water Act and often engage on behalf of clients with federal and state regulators to ensure that regulatory initiatives are narrowly tailored so as to not place an undue burden on individual permit holders.
